Fear not my friends; Martyn’s Law is not some totally unhelpful plan to have the names of local sex offenders published. Oh no. One of the unfortunate consequences of doing the “Diana Watch” blog every week is having to do what I, rather grandly, call research. By research I mean reading the websites of papers that I wouldn’t normally read, (you have no idea how I suffer for that blog.) but I noticed something and this has become Martyn’s Law. I have suffered the ramblings of Richard Littlejohn and Jan Moir. I have read the Daily Express website. I have seen things that you can not imagine, man. I get flash backs!
I am hoping that Martyn’s Law will become as popular as Godwin’s Law.
Martyn’s Law states that “The number of time the phrases “In fact” or “The fact is” are used by a rightwing columnist is inversely proportioned to the number of actual facts in the article”
