I come before you today with some good news. Yesterday I
wrote about my one visit to the allotment so far this year and the destruction that
the weather had caused. Well, that exciting adventure out was about 10 days ago
and writing about it got me excited about growing stuff again so, with the sun
shining and an afternoon off, I wandered on down there again.
Is spring in the air? If you judge these things by the
actio...

Allotment 18/1/11 (And We're Back)
Posted by Martyn Norris on Tuesday, January 18, 2011,
It’s that time of year again. The time of year that sees an
envelope flop through the letter box from the council pointing out that it is
time to pay the rent on the plot. It’s a gone up this year as well, a rather
extortionate £15.25. God lord, that’s for a full year mind you.

Allotment 25/1/10

Happy New Year to one and all.
Sorry I haven't written anything for a

That and yet another weather moan. During November I complained about
the rain quite a lot because it stopped me getting out there.
I did manage to get to the allotment 2
days before Christmas so that I could get some veg for the seasonal
meals, however the soil was frozen solid. I could barely get the fork
into the ground. Past episod...

Allotment 5/11/09

Whilst some of you are out
setting fire to the, recently built, homes of hedgehogs and throwing an effigy
of a Roman Catholic, as someone on radio 4’s PM described your bonfire’s Guy
(terrorist my friend, terrorist), on top, I have a question for those who have
remained indoors. A question that the internet failed to answer. Ok, it was a
very, very quick search, whilst at work this morning but still, no answer. I
did find the a...
